さて、今年の AIU 祭のテーマは「Tilt 23 度 world in motion」。

Vice President's Greetings

<English> Good morning, everyone. It is my great pleasure, on behalf of AIU, to welcome you all to the long-awaited 23rd AIU Festival.First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the AIU Festival for so many years, including the Kawabe-Yuwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, all the members of our local community and families who have joined us today, all the students, faculty, and staff who have worked with such passion and dedication to prepare for this special occasion, and everyone else who has contributed to making this festival possible. Thank you very much. This year’s theme is “Tilt 23: World in Motion.” I believe it is a deeply meaningful, moving, and wonderful theme—one that feels truly unique to AIU. I imagine that the “23” also reflects the fact that we are celebrating the 23rd AIU Festival. As you may know, the Earth’s axis is tilted by approximately 23.4 degrees. If the Earth stood perfectly upright, we would not have the changing seasons, the four seasons as we know them, or the diverse ecosystems that exist today. It is precisely because the Earth is tilted by 23 degrees that this planet is filled with such astonishing diversity. If we think about the idea of “tilting” from another perspective, it can mean slightly shifting our own point of view, or challenging the assumptions and fixed ideas that we have taken for granted. We meet and engage in discussions with people from diverse backgrounds, and by slightly “tilting” our own position, we are able to look into the worlds of others. It is precisely these differences in perspective that give rise to new questions and serve as the driving force behind progress in the world. Here on AIU’s campus, the diversity created by students who have come together from all across Japan and from around the world meets and intertwines with the refreshing winds of Akita. The energy that emerges when diverse values and perspectives come together, and when our viewpoints are tilted just a little, is truly part of AIU’s DNA. It is the very energy that makes “world in motion”—the world move.Over these two days, through the many performances, international exhibitions and cuisines, and warm conversations you will share, I hope that everyone who visits us will experience the joy of seeing the world from a slightly different perspective, as well as those moments when your heart begins to move and come alive. Finally, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the Kawabe-Yuwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the members of the AIU Festival Executive Committee, and all the members of our local community and everyone involved who have supported us so warmly, and who have worked tirelessly, day and night, to make this wonderful AIU Festival possible. Now, let us tilt our perspectives, move our hearts, and enjoy this festival to the fullest.

Chamber of Commerce President's Greetings

<英語>As we enter this beautiful and colorful season of autumn, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the successful opening of the 23rd AIU Festival of Akita International University today.I would also like to express my sincere respect and appreciation to the members of the Festival Executive Committee and everyone involved for all the hard work and dedication you have put into preparing for this day.Since its establishment, Akita International University has taken on a wide range of pioneering initiatives, bringing new ideas and fresh energy to communities both in Japan and around the world, and making a significant impact in many different ways.At the same time, as a university that is open to the local community and walks together with the community, AIU has provided educational opportunities, places for learning and training, and many chances for active exchange and interaction. We in the local community are always inspired and energized by your efforts. We sincerely hope that AIU will continue to serve as an even stronger bridge connecting Akita with other parts of Japan and with the rest of the world. The Kawabe-Yuwa area, where AIU is located, is sometimes described as a place where there is “nothing.” But I believe that this is not a place where there is nothing. Rather, it is a place filled with dreams and endless possibilities.I believe that many of you students have already developed a strong attachment to this community. I sincerely hope that, even after graduation e, you will continue to stay connected with Kawabe-Yuwa.For example, I hope that you will find and take on new business opportunities from here, perhaps by making use of technologies such as digital transformation, or DX. The Kawabe-Yuwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry will do everything we can to support you in those endeavors.Going forward, let us continue to take on new challenges together, while creating even greater synergy and opportunities between AIU and our local community. Finally, everyone, over these two days, I hope you will forget about your studies for a while and enjoy yourselves to the fullest. Please make memories with your precious friends that you will never forget for the rest of your lives. With my sincere wishes for the success of the AIU Festival and for the continued growth and development of Akita International University, I would like to conclude my remarks.Once again, my heartfelt congratulations to you all, and I hope you have a wonderful AIU Festival.

Student Council President's Greetings

<English>Hello everyone, my name is Yuiko DOSHO, the current president of the Student Government. Although I am not directly involved in the management of this AIU festival directly, I am honored to be here as a member of the Student Government.
First of all, I would like to show my largest appreciation and respect to everyone who worked for the 23rd AIU festival. From the members of the AIU festival committee, faculty and staff members of AIU, to all who are involved in this festival, thank you for making an effort to hold this wonderful event.
Leading up to this day, I’ve watched up close as AIU students—the people I study with every day—have been working tirelessly on preparations for quite some time. The fruits of the AIU students’ efforts—who are busy with their studies and various other activities—are sure to be evident in every detail of this festival.
Now, regarding this year’s theme—“Tilt 23° - World in Motion”—I think it’s a truly wonderful theme. Without the Earth’s tilt, there would be no seasons, and the cultural diversity we enjoy today would never have emerged. It’s a simple truth, but this theme has reminded me of the importance. It’s truly the perfect phrase for AIU.
In recent years, the word “diversity” has been used more frequently, and at times, I get the sense that it’s being used in a rather superficial way. There may even be some who feel a bit weary of this overused “diversity.” However, when we return to its true meaning, I believe it is, after all, an incredibly important term that should be accepted as a matter of course. It goes without saying that everyone here—and indeed, everyone, including those not present here—has a unique life and a distinct perspective. This is undeniably fascinating, and it’s something many AIU students experience every day. And of course, we ourselves are constantly changing as well. I also think the phrase “World in Motion,” which follows the theme, is a wonderful and fitting expression. In a world that is constantly moving and changing, I hope you’ll enjoy every single moment of this year’s AIU Festival—moments that exist only in the present—right up until the very end.
Finally, I would like to once again express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has helped make the AIU Festival a reality, as well as to all the visitors who have come today. Please enjoy this 23rd AIU Festival, full of vibrant individuality and hard work, to your heart’s content.

今年のテーマは、「Tilt 23° ~World in Motion~」です。

That effort are all for visiters and those supported AIU festival. The theme of this year is “Tilt ~World in Motion~” It represents the diversity on Earth; seasons and culture for example, generated by the tilt of the Earth, which inclines 23 degrees. AIU is the place where scholars from diverse backgrounds come together and learn different culture and academic knowledge from each other. Thus this theme shows our hope to highlight each person’s traits.Of course the path toward this day was not straightforward. Many problems. The difficulty which involves many people. Assignments and classes. The key to reach today is all the members of AIU festival committee. We had many discussions, and supported each other. I sincerely appreciate them.
